A question about moving a CentOS 5.5 hard disk

I would like to ask those with experience a question. Suppose I have a Dell R210 server running CentOS 5.5 and it fails, for example because of a mainboard problem. I have an HP DL120 G6 as a spare. Can I take the hard disk out of the Dell, put it in the HP, and boot it straight away? Will Linux detect drivers for the new hardware? I have moved hard disks between computers of the same brand before. I only had to check that the MAC address in if-config had changed to the new LAN card’s address. However, I have never moved a disk between machines with different internal hardware. Thank you. Laugh
