How to add disclaimer per domain on ZIMBRA 8.0

If you use ZIMBRA 8.0, which does not yet support per-domain disclaimer configuration (available from 8.5 onward), you can configure it manually as follows.

  1. Enable domain based signature in global config # zmprov mcf zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureEnabled TRUE
  2. Edit /opt/zimbra/conf/amavisd.conf.in and add the domain for which you want a disclaimer to @disclaimer_options_bysender_maps, as in this example.
    @disclaimer_options_bysender_maps = (
      { ‘ezymailhosting.com’ => ‘ezymailhosting.com’ },
      { ’.’ => ‘global-default’ },
    );
  3. Create disclaimer files in /opt/zimbra/data/altermime/ using the domain name you added. For example, /opt/zimbra/data/altermime/ezymailhosting.com.txt => for text format; /opt/zimbra/data/altermime/ezymailhosting.com.html => for html format.
