Moblin and Android Linux OS for Mobile Device

Netbooks and mobile devices are gaining popularity. Linux operating systems for devices with limited resources began developing only a few years ago. This year, competition is expected between Intel’s Moblin and Google’s Android because both target the same mobile devices, such as netbooks and mobile phones. Leading companies are testing Android on netbooks, and some have already released Android netbooks, giving Android considerable momentum. Meanwhile, Moblin has released a beta for testing. Intel says this version boots in about five seconds and uses much less power than Windows. Intel also says that Moblin is especially power-efficient when paired with an Intel Atom processor. As for energy efficiency, both Android and Moblin should certainly consume less power than Windows, because both were built specifically for mobile devices.
