รายละเอียด package ต่างๆของ Zimbra

• Zimbra Core คือ package หลักที่จะถูกติดตั้งทุกครั้ง มี libraries, utilities, monitoring tools, และ basic configuration files
• Zimbra LDAP เป็นระบบ user authentication ที่ใช้ OpenLDAP เป็น backend โดยข้อมูลของแต่ละ user จัดเก็บแบบ unique mailbox ID เพื่อใช่เป็น primary point ของ account สำหรับการติดตั้ง Zimbra LDAP server จะต้องติดตั้งก่อน server อื่นๆเสมอ
• Zimbra Store เป็น components สำหรับ mailbox server รวมถึง Jetty (servlet container)  Zimbra mailbox server มี components ต่างๆดังนี้:
  • Data store คือ MySQL database.
  • Message store ที่เก็บ email messages และfile attachments ทุกฉบับ
  • Index store เก็บ index สำหรับใช้ในการค้นหาข้อมูลของแต่ละ mailbox
• Zimbra MTA ใช้ Postfix ทำหน้าที่เป็น mail transfer agent (MTA) ที่รับ mail ผ่านทาง SMTP และค้นหาเส้นทางไปยัง Zimbra mailbox server ผ่านทาง Local Mail Transfer Protocol (LMTP) นอกจากนี้ Zimbra MTA ยังมี anti-virus and anti-spam components ให้อีกด้วย
• Zimbra SNMP (optional) สำหรับใช้ monitor zimbra ผ่าน SNMP
• Zimbra Logger  (optional) โดยทั่วไปจะติดตั้งบน mailbox server (1 เครื่อง) และต้องติดตั้งพร้อมกับ mailbox server ด้วย Zimbra Logger เป็นเครื่องมือสำหรับการรวม syslog และ report  ถ้าหากไม่ได้ติดตั้ง Zimbra Logger ข้อมูลส่วนของ server statistics บน administration console จะไม่แสดง
• Zimbra Spell (optional) คือ spell checker ที่ใช้บน Zimbra Web Client
• Zimbra Apache จะถูกติดตั้งโดยอัตโนมัตเมื่อติดตั้ง Zimbra Spell
