How to create an admin account on Zimbra mail server

Creating an admin account and granting admin privileges to an existing user on a Zimbra mail server. The command for creating an admin account:

zmprov ca email password zimbraIsAdminAccount TRUE

For example, create an admin account with email [email protected] and password test123:

zmprov ca [email protected] test123 zimbraIsAdminAccount TRUE

You can also grant admin privileges to an existing user with this command:

zmprov ma [email protected] zimbraIsAdminAccount TRUE

Remember to change the password for security.

zmprov sp [email protected] NEW_PASSWORD
