How to install Dell OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA)
Dell OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) is important software for Dell server users. OMSA monitors hardware and alerts, performs basic hardware troubleshooting, and configures RAID. It also supports Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) and SNMP for integration with monitoring software such as Zabbix and Nagios.
Supported Linux distributions include:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 server Update 2 (x86_32 and x86_64)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 server (x86_64)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (x86_64)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
- CentOS and Scientific: see the versions above.
- Fedora: changing the configuration from “fc” to “el5” can make it work, but safety is not guaranteed.
- Debian and Ubuntu are not yet supported.
