How to Restore Defaults Gnome Desktop Environment
Restore the default GNOME desktop environment with these simple steps.
- Enter runlevel 3 with: #init3
- Log in as root.
- Go to the home directory of the user whose desktop you want to restore.
- Delete .gnome*, .gconf*, .metacity, .nautilus, /tmp/gconfd-{ชื่อ username}, and /tmp/orbit-{ชื่อ username}.
For example, to restore the default GNOME desktop environment for user A1:
- Enter runlevel 3 with: #init3
- Log in as root.
- Go to the user’s home directory with this command. #cd /home/A1
- Delete the files. rm -rf /home/A1/.gnome* rm -rf /home/A1/.gconf* rm -rf /home/A1/.metacity rm -rf /home/A1/.nautilus rm -rf /tmp/gconfd-A1 rm -rf /tmp/orbit-A1
Then reboot and log in as A1. The system rebuilds the desktop environment.
