Add Windows (TrueType) Fonts in GNOME desktop
Following Add Thai fonts in Linux, I will expand on step 2. Some readers may be unsure how to open Nautilus and browse to fonts://; this article explains how. To add Windows (TrueType) fonts to the GNOME desktop:
- Double-click Computer.
- Click File in the top menu, then select Open Location…
- Enter fonts://
- Drag the font files you want to copy into this window.
Note: *If some applications still cannot use the fonts, restart the computer. Tip: You can also create a directory named .font in your home directory and copy the desired font files into it.
