Other Virtual network interfaces go down when bring down virtual network interfaces
Have you ever created several virtual network interfaces and found that bringing one down also brings down others? Suppose there are four virtual network interfaces: eth0:0, eth0:1, eth0:2, and eth0:3. To bring down eth0:0, we run: #ifdown eth0:0 This also brings down eth0:1, eth0:2, and eth0:3. A glibc bug causes all virtual network interfaces with higher numbers to go down when a lower-numbered interface is brought down. In this case, eth0:1, eth0:2, and eth0:3 go down as well. As another example, to bring down eth0:2, run: #ifdown eth0:2 This also brings down eth0:3. The solution is to upgrade glibc.
