When installing Windows Server 2008 R2 on KVM, the error “windows is unable to the selected location. Error: 0x80300001” occurs because the installer needs the Windows Server DVD-ROM (CD-ROM) but cannot find or read it. During Windows Server 2008 R2 installation on KVM, this usually happens after attaching the virtio drivers image to the VM without reattaching the Windows Server disc. Resolve “windows is unable to the selected location. Error: 0x80300001” by reattaching the Windows Server disc with:
