Zimbra users migration from 32-bit to 64-bit server
Migrating user data from 32-bit Zimbra to 64-bit Zimbra follows a process similar to normal backup and restore of user data in zimbra.
To move user data from a 32-bit machine to a 64-bit machine running Zimbra, follow the steps below.
Moving user data from a 32-bit machine to a 64-bit machine
On the 32-bit machine, back up all user data
Run this command:
[zimbra@mail ~]$ /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmslapcat /backup
On the 64-bit machine, restore all user data as follows First stop ldap by running the command. Then back up the old data by renaming the directory, following these steps:
[zimbra@mail ~]$ cd /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/hdb/db
[zimbra@mail ~]$ /opt/zimbra/bdb/bin/db_recover
[zimbra@mail ~]$ cd /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/
[zimbra@mail ~]$ mv mdb mdb.backup
[zimbra@mail ~]$ mkdir -p mdb/db
[zimbra@mail ~]$ cp /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/mdb.backup/db/DB_CONFIG mdb/db
Copy the user data from the 32-bit machine to /backup on the 64-bit machine. Then run the following command to import the data:
[zimbra@mail ~]$ /opt/zimbra/openldap/sbin/slapadd -q -b "" -F /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/config -cv -l /backup/ldap.bak
Checking correctness You can check correctness by running this command:
[zimbra@mail ~]$ openldap/slapcat -f /opt/zimbra/conf/slapd.conf
