How to Get Flash plugin to Work on Fedora x86_64 (64-bit)
On x86_64 or 64-bit Linux, Firefox or Opera may still report that the Flash plugin is missing after installing Adobe Flash Player. This is because the downloadable plugin is 32-bit and cannot work on 64-bit Linux with 64-bit Firefox. Install flash-plugin if it is not already installed Download the RPM file from:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/thankyou/?installer=Flash_Player_10_for_Linux_%28.rpm%29
Then run:
[tum@ezylinux ~]# rpm -ivh flash-plugin-10.0.32.18-release.i386.rpm
To make flash-plugin work on 64-bit Linux, download the 64-bit Flash plugin from Adobe:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/libflashplayer-10.0.32.18.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz
Extract libflashplayer-10.0.32.18.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz and copy it over libflashplayer.so in the flash-plugin directory, normally /usr/lib/flash-plugin. If you cannot find it, try find / -name libflashplayer.so.
[tum@ezylinux ~]# find / -name libflashplayer.so
/home/tum/libflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins-wrapped/libflashplayer.so // link file
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so // link file
/usr/lib/opera/plugins/libflashplayer.so // link file
/usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so
Once you know the path to libflashplayer.so, run:
[tum@ezylinux ~]# cp -f libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so
After replacing the file, restart the browser. ** Log in as root first to make these changes easier.
