หลังจากตัดสินใจซื้อ iPod touch ไปได้ไม่นาน ช่วง อา. แรกไม่ได้ทำอะไรลองใช้งานเล็กๆน้อยๆ ยังไม่ได้ Jailbreak เพราะเกรงว่าถ้าเกิด hardware พังขึ้นมาจะได้ไปเปลี่ยนได้ และหลังจากผ่านไปหนึ่งอา. ก็เริ่มเลยครับ และประจวบเหมาะที่ firmware 3.0 หลุดออกมาก่อนวันที่ apple จะขาย ในคืนนั้นเลยตัวสินใจ ลง firmware 3.0 รหัส 7A341 แล้วลอง jailbreak ดู แต่เก็ไม่สำเร็จเพราะว่าโปรแกรม jailbreak ไม่ support เลยต้องถอยมาที่ firmware 2.2.1 ซึ่งเท่ากับเวอร์ชั่นที่ซื้อมา และวันนี้เองได้รู้ว่ามีโปรแกรม jailbreak รองรับ firmware 3.0 ออกมาแล้ว เลยไม่รีรอที่จะ jailbreak มันที เพราะพร้อมทุกอย่างอยู่แล้ว หลังจากเริ่มลอง jailbreak มั่วอยู่นานมากๆ เพราะว่าไม่รู้ว่าต้องทำอะไรก่อน อะไรหลัง สุดท้ายก็สำเร็จลุล่วงไปได้ด้วยดีครับ ฮาๆ

วิธีการ jailbreak นี้สามารถทำได้ทั้ง iPod touch 1st gen, iPod touch 2nd gen, iPhone 2g และ iPhonne 3g ครับ และใช้ windows ในการ jailbreak โดยรุ่นที่ support อ้างอิงมาจาก readme ของโปรแกรมครับ

Redsn0w is a lightweight, multi-platform jailbreaking and unlocking tool for the iPhone 2G (original iPhone), the iPhone 3G (but not the 3GS) and also the iPod touch (1st generation and second generation).

ขั้นตอนการ jailbreak ด้วย windows ผ่านหน้าจอแบบ gui นั้นง่ายมากๆ ไม่มีอะไรยากมากมาย

1. update firmware ของ iPod touch หรือ iPhone เป็น 3.0 ก่อน
2. หลังจาก update เสร็จเรียบร้อย ให้โหลดโปรแกรม redsn0w เวอร์ชั่น 0.7.1 for windows มาครับ
3. เปิดโปรแกรมด้วยการ double click ไปที่โปรแกรม และ browse ไปยังไฟล์ firmware 3.0 รอสักพัก เพื่อเชค firmware จากนั้น กด next
4. เลือก install cydia
5. ให้ปิดเครื่อง และต่อสาย usb เข้ากับ เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ (ในโปรแกรมมีบอก)
6. ขั้นตอนนี้ให้ทำตามโปรแกรมบอกครับ เพื่อเข้าสู่โหมด DFU โดยให้ทำตามขั้นตอนดังนี้
   1. กด เปิดเครื่อง 3 วินาที
   2. ให้กดปุ่ม home โดยที่ยังไม่ปล่อยปุ่มเปิดเครื่องค้างไว้ประมาณ 10 วินาที
   3. ปล่อยปุ่มเปิดเครื่อง แต่ยังกดปุ่ม home ค้างไว้ ไม่เกิน 30 วินาที (ถ้าโปรแกรมตรวจพบว่าเข้าสู่โหมด DFU แล้วก็สามารถปล่อยได้)
7. จากนั้นโปรแกรมจะทำการโหลด jailbreak data และ install cydia เข้าไป ซึ่งขั้นตอนหลังจากนนี้ก็รออย่างเดียวครับ
8. เมื่อเสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้ว โปรแกรมจะมีปุ่ม finish
9. สังเกต iPod touch ของเราจะเริ่ม patch และ install cydia เข้าไป
10. รอจนกว่าจะเสร็จ

1. Dowload Redsn0w jailbreak program for windows version 0.7.1 or latest Link and iPod touch 3.0 7A341 firmware
2. Update 3.0 firmware to the ipod touch via itune.
3. after update completed. open the redsn0w and browse to the firmware 3.0 file.
4. press next.
5. Select install cydia. press next
6. Turn off iPod touch and plug usb to your computer. press next
7. Following the instruction from the program tell to enter DFU Mode(When entering this mode, the screen is white)
8. When entering to DFU mode program will transfer jailbreak data and install cydia. wait….
9. When finished, Program will have a button finish. but your iPod touch is not finished to patch. you are wait until complete

Note** Mipatch and Mobileinstallation is not work in 3.0 official firmware. you should use AppSync 3.0 instead!!
