Install iPod touch, iPhone App from Internet without iTune

There are several ways to install apps on iPod touch and iPhone without iTunes. Today I will show how to install them over the Internet. The iPod touch or iPhone must already be jailbroken and have Cydia installed (see Jailbreak iPod touch firmware 3.0). The other essential tool is Installous, which installs .ipa files, the application files for iPod touch and iPhone, downloaded through Safari or installous on the device. Installing Installous

1. Open Cydia.
2. Select Search, type installous, and tap Search.
3. Select installous.
4. Select install in the upper-right corner, then confirm.
5. Wait for installation. When it finishes, select Return to Cydia, then press Home. Installation is complete.

Installing iPod touch and iPhone apps through Installous If you do not know where to download an ipa file:

1. Open Installous.
2. Select Search in the upper-right corner, type the program name, and tap Search.
3. Select the program you want.
4. On the program details page, scroll to the bottom, find Download App, and choose the version to download.
5. Select a link (any link), then enter the Captcha.
6. After entering the Captcha correctly, a page offers Download or Install. Select Install.
7. Wait for it to finish.

If you already know the URL of the ipa file, open that URL in Safari. On the page offering Download or Install, choose Install and wait for it to finish. If installed apps disappear when syncing with iTunes, go to Installous -> Settings and turn off iTune sync. Alternatively, use AppBackup to back up iPod touch or iPhone apps. AppBackup can be installed through Cydia. If you already have the .ipa file on your computer, follow Install ipa file iPhone, iPod touch 3.0 from iTune sync instead. :)
